An update has emerged on former WWE star Matt Riddle potentially signing with AEW, following his recent comments about meeting Tony Khan.
With Riddle departing WWE in September 2023, there has naturally been some speculation about the King of Bros possibly wrestling for AEW.
Riddle addressed these rumors in a recent interview, during which he recalled an awkward conversation with AEW CEO Tony Khan.
Per Fightful Select, Tony Khan has not had any interest in signing Matt Riddle, “especially over the last number of years”.
The report also noted that it was pointed out to them that AEW talent rarely work with Riddle on the independent scene, outside of Mexico.
While Riddle has wrestled for the likes of AAA, NJPW and MLW, the former WWE US Champion reportedly doesn’t have a contract.
