Matt Riddle Shows Off Black Eye Sustained Following Clash At The Castle

The grudge match between Matt Riddle and Seth Rollins had been brewing on Monday Night Raw since the night after Money In The Bank in June, with the original match between the two set for SummerSlam.

When Triple H took over WWE creative following the retirement of Vince McMahon, he made the decision to delay the match between Riddle and Rollins until Clash at the Castle in Cardiff last weekend, in order to get more heat established on the rivalry.

The decision ended up helping the encounter, with Rollins picking up the win with two stomps on Riddle, the second from the middle rope, which apparently left it’s mark on the Original Bro.

Riddle shared a photo to his Twitter yesterday, showing off the black eye he got from the match, as well as promising that he’ll get his revenge on Rollins.

WWE’s next premium live event is Extreme Rules in Philadelphia, leading to speculation that the two could have a rematch on that show with a stipulation attached.
