Matt Riddle Breaks Silence Following WWE Suspension Rumors

Matt Riddle Breaks Silence Following WWE Suspension Rumors WWE

WWE star Matt Riddle was written off of WWE television back on the December 5 episode of Raw.

Riddle was stretchered out following an attack from Solo Sikoa on the show, with WWE announcing that he would be out of action for six weeks.

A report then emerged from Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net a week later, claiming that Riddle had failed a drug test and would be going to rehab – the apparent ‘real’ reason he was written off TV.

The report even claimed it was a second offence of 2022 as Riddle failed a drug test in the summer, which is purportedly what led to his planned Clash at the Castle match with Seth Rollins being canceled.

Dave Meltzer later reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that a source “close to Riddle” had denied the story, and the source said the reason for Riddle being off is because of the pressure of going through a divorce.

Meltzer explained some discrepancies between the report and WWE’s drug testing policy, and said “either WWE has secretly changed its policy or something doesn’t add up”.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful tweeted:

I’d heard the BodySlam story was accurate and saw a lot of stuff to back it up

Following all of this, Daniella Petrow, who reportedly dated Riddle following his recent divorce, recently took to social media, accusing Riddle of sexual abuse.

Amid the ongoing accusations, Riddle took to social media to break his silence on the situation, and how he has been working a lot on himself.

He said:

I’ve been working a lot on myself lately and have been saying no and setting boundaries for the first time ever and certain people aren’t happy about it, but I couldn’t be healthier or happier.

Thank you for all the support

WWE has not shied away from spotlighting Riddle, including Elias holding a ‘tribute concert’ for him on the December 12 episode of Raw, and clips of him being shown on the December 19 episode too.

We’ll continue to provide updates as they emerge.
