Matt Riddle Unsure That Conor McGregor Would ‘Pass The WWE PG Code’

WWE Raw star Matt Riddle has commented on the possibility of Conor McGregor ever joining WWE and whether he’d fit in at the company.

McGregor is one of the most entertaining and polarising figures in MMA history, and that’s made a lot of people think that he’d be a great get for WWE.

Speaking with Sportskeeda though, Matt Riddle was unsure about whether McGregor would be able to keep it PG enough to make it in WWE.

Riddle said:

“He’s Conor McGregor. The guy puts butts in seats. The guy has a mouth on him. I don’t know if he would pass the PG WWE code. But I guess he could do his best. At the end of the day, it’s like Jake Paul or any of them… I don’t know how they’re doing it but they get people talking, they’re controversial, they make money with fights and drama.

“Do I think he’d be a good fit for WWE? If he’s willing to do the work and work hard and put his time in, yeah. Just like Ronda was good. Just like I’m good. But if you think you’re just going to come in, collect a payday which will probably happen and be more like a Cain (Velasquez) situation, where a guy comes in, even if he had the skills, only comes in for a show or two. I think it’d be great for business. Conor’s good, marketable, and everything else.”

Big E recently said he has his doubts about McGregor in WWE and doesn’t think everyone would welcome him with open arms, but does recognise the business and publicity he would bring.

There was a tiny bit of crossover with WWE and McGregor recently as BT Sport here in WWE.com also often covers WWE stars’ comments about McGregor, and Triple H even invited him to have a match with Finn Balor on Twitter just a few months ago.the UK had Becky Lynch doing a voiceover to promote McGregor’s fight with Dustin Poirier.
