Matt Riddle WWE Status Update

Matt Riddle WWE Status Update WWE

An update has emerged on the WWE status of Matt Riddle who was reportedly suspended for failing a drug test back in December.

On the December 5 episode of Raw, Riddle was attacked by Solo Sikoa writing him off TV for what WWE called six weeks at the time, but obviously it’s been more than six weeks since that happened.

A week later, Bodyslam.net reported that Riddle had been suspended and would be going to rehab.

Dave Meltzer has provided the latest update on today’s February 28 edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, saying:

“He’s been out of rehab for a long time, his suspension has been over for almost a month now – four weeks.

“It may be that they’ve just decided not to use him for Mania and not do anything with him, or maybe they just don’t want to invest in him.

“I presume he’ll be back, but when he left they made a point of (saying) he was gonna be gone for six weeks, and we’re at about 11 or 12 weeks.”

For the first couple of weeks he was absent, WWE didn’t shy away from mentioning Riddle, showing replays of the attack from Sikoa, and Elias even held a “tribute concert” for him – but he hasn’t been brought up for a while now.

On February 14, he tweeted “I’ll see you all very soon”, which seemed to suggest an upcoming return.
