Max Caster On Comparisons Between The Acclaimed & WWE Hall Of Famers AEW

AEW star Max Caster has addressed comparisons between the Acclaimed and WWE’ The New Age Outlaws team.

The Acclaimed are one of the most popular teams in AEW. Caster and Anthony Bowens currently hold the AEW Tag Team Championship, winning the gold from Swerve In Our Glory at September’s Dynamite Grand Slam show with ‘Daddy Ass’ Billy Gunn in their corner.

There have been some comparisons drawn between The Acclaimed and Gunn’s former New Age Outlaws team with Road Dogg, with Caster and Bowens also taking to the mic for tongue and cheek antics ahead of their matches.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Caster noted that he and Bowens want to be known for forging their own path.

Aiming to represent homegrown AEW talent, Caster said:

“We call ourselves ‘the new legends,’ we’re not the ‘new’ New Age Outlaws. We are the new legends in wrestling because of what we have been able to accomplish just this year and once we won the titles, I told Anthony, ‘If we have a full year of just focused energy on getting this to be the most popular thing in wrestling and the loser popular thing in the world, we’re set for life.'”

“We represent all the homegrown talent on the roster as well. They look at us different now too. Like, what want to know what to do now and if we can pass that on, that would be great.”

The Acclaimed most recently defended their gold on the December 7 edition of Dynamite, defeating Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler to retain the title.
