Mayu Iwatani has responded to Mercedes Mone attacking her ahead of their title match.
On Tuesday, STARDOM held a special press conference for the IWGP Women’s Championship match between Mercedes Mone and Mayu Iwatani at All Star Grand Queendom on April 23.
The presser ended with Mone laying out Iwatani with a vicious attack where she delivered the Mone Maker through a table, which you can see here.
In an interview with Tokyo Sports, Iwatani has responded to the attack from the former Sasha Banks. She said:
“It hurt like hell! I don’t even know what she was saying in English! But the fact that she did something like this means that Moné is serious this time, is she panicking?”
Mercedes Mone is coming off the heels of her first successful title defense of the IWGP Women’s Championship in a win over AZM and Hazuki at NJPW Sakura Genesis.
As previously reported, Mone has addressed a fan’s criticism of her press conference antics, calling her a “female Dean Ambrose.”
