At WWE Evolution, we will see current WWE performers Alexa Bliss and Mickie James take on two stars of the past in Trish Stratus and Lita in a tag team match, but Bliss and James aren’t the only wrestlers looking to take on those of yesteryear at the October 28 event.
Former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Naomi revealed back at the beginning of September that Melina would be her dream opponent for the event.
Earlier this week, the former three-time WWE Women’s Champion responded during an interview with Ring The Belle on YouTube, which you can watch below.
In response to Naomi, Melina said:
“I wanted to hug her face off. That’s so sweet. I would love to have a match with her. I would love it. She’s such a good person. I know that we could make magic together.”
During her tenure in WWE, Melina racked up quite a few accomplishments, including being a three-time Women’s Champion and two-time Divas Champion.
Melina Perez has continued to compete on the independent circuit, so a return to WWE, even on a one-shot deal, isn’t completely out of the question.
Naomi joins Bayley in this week’s news for hinting at an Evolution match with a WWE legend.
