Men’s Royal Rumble Finish Changed During The Match

To the delight of some, and to the horror of others, Brock Lesnar won the 2022 Men’s Royal Rumble match, entering at the number 30 spot to book his place at WrestleMania 38.

Not only did Brock win, but he completely destroyed everyone who was left in the ring when he entered, and even threw out former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre with relative ease.

However, it appears the finish was actually changed during the match due to a lack of time. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Brock and Drew were supposed to have a much longer battle before Brock eventually won.

He said:

“The ending, the deal basically with the Rumble was that Brock was to murder everybody, and that was that. And that was probably Brock’s call, because it was kinda said to me, Brock was gonna get exactly what he wanted, and that was to get himself as strong as possible for the Roman Reigns match.

“Everybody was supposed to just get murdered by him, and they all did, but they were gonna do stuff with Drew. They did wanna protect Drew, but they were running low on time as you could tell, they had to rush to get off the air and everything like that, so they didn’t do as much.”

Brock will now go on to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 38 unless plans change, because of course it’s Brock vs. Roman again.
