Men’s SmackDown Team For Survivor Series Revealed

Men’s SmackDown Team For Survivor Series Revealed

Tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown Live certainly had a lot of build for Survivor Series, as it should considering the go-home show is next week (how is it the go-home show already? It just feels like we started the build. I blame Crown Jewel). The full men’s team was revealed during the course of the episode, culminating in the main event.

Daniel Bryan was originally introduced as the team captain, however The Miz disagreed and claimed he should be captain (which, to be fair, isn’t a bad shout considering he was nearly crowned the best wrestler in the world). The actual best wrestler in the world, Shane McMahon, and General Manager Paige compromised and made Bryan and Miz co-captains, with both competing in the match.

Shane himself was confirmed for the team later on, as both Bryan and Miz wanted him on the team, for some reason. I guess because he’s the best wrestler in the world.

Bryan attempted to add Rey Mysterio to the team later in the episode, and Miz added the stipulation of Mysterio having to overcome his opponent tonight first, that being Andrade Almas. Mysterio did so in a very solid match, and was added to the team.

The final spot on the team was determined by the winner of the main event. The competitors were chosen by Daniel Bryan and The Miz, each choosing one each. The two chosen were Samoa Joe and Jeff Hardy. Joe ended up with the victory after choking out Hardy with the Coquina Clutch.

The final Men’s SmackDown team for Survivor Series is:

  • Daniel Bryan (c)
  • The Miz (c)
  • Shane McMahon, the best wrestler in the world
  • Rey Mysterio
  • Samoa Joe

The final angle of the night took place directly after the main event which involved Samoa Joe attacking Daniel Bryan. This led to a melee between the whole team, with Bryan knocking out Shane McMahon. Will the team be able to co-exist come next Sunday? Why would the wrestlers care about making SmackDown win? Are there no tangible stakes at all? Find out all this and more, next week! But seriously, sort it out WWE.
