Mercedes Mone AEW Status Update

Mercedes Mone has provided an update on her AEW status following her TBS Championship loss to Willow Nightingale.

After over 500 days, Mercedes’ run with the TBS Championship came to an end on New Year’s Eve, when she lost the title to Willow Nightingale on the New Year’s Smash episode of Dynamite.

Following the loss, Mercedes would interrupt Willow’s celebration on this week’s Dynamite, ending up with a face full of cake.

On tonight’s AEW Collision, Mercedes provided an update on her status, saying that she plans on taking a break from AEW following the loss.

She said:

“You wanna smile and laugh and play hero? Well heroes don’t build divisions, icons do. For over 500 days I held that championship, not because I was lucky, because I was undeniable.

“I was the greatest! I was PWI’s number one wrestler of the year! Sports Illustrated number one, and Willow it doesn’t matter what year it is, I will always be the greatest.

“Ever since I arrived at AEW I have been shown nothing but disrespect. I am so sick and tired of the disrespect around here.

“To show you bitches a lesson, I am taking a break from AEW to show you why and how I elevate it, and good luck without me, because when I return, I am collecting more than just titles.”
