Mercedes Mone Discusses Bayley Potentially Becoming WWE Coach WWE/AEW

AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone has discussed the possibility of Bayley becoming a coach for WWE’s women’s division.

The history between Bayley and Mercedes needs no introduction, with the pair becoming best friends since their days together in NXT, even becoming the inaugural Women’s Tag Team Champions in the company.

While Mercedes left WWE back in 2022, later joining NJPW and AEW, Bayley remains with the company today, winning the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble match, and the WWE Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 40.

Bayley signed an extension with the company last year, and with her being one of the most respected names in the division, many have speculated that she may become a coach for the women’s division once her career is done.

Speaking about Bayley in her Mone Mag, Mercedes commented on the idea of Bayley becoming a coach in the future.

She said:

“The subject of Bayley coaching the WWE’s women’s roster one day came up in conversation recently. All I can say is that she’s been a natural leader for years, and that coaching is something she’s always talked about. I see her opening her own wrestling school someday, if not being an actual WWE executive when she hangs up her boots.

“Even now, Bayley’s the go-to person backstage—always ready to help and elevate the women around her. She’s unselfish and passionate, constantly working to push the women’s division forward as a whole – not just herself. That’s a true role model and real leadership. When you talk about the women’s movement in life, not just wrestling, Bayley epitomizes what it needs to be and should be.”
