Mercedes Mone Responds To AEW Star Paying Tribute To Her On Dynamite NJPW

Mercedes Mone has responded to an AEW star paying tribute to her on the latest AEW Dynamite.

Since leaving WWE and signing with NJPW, there has been much speculation about whether Mercedes Mone will ever step foot in an AEW ring.

On the May 10 episode of AEW Dynamite, Daniel Garcia came up short against Orange Cassidy in a match for the AEW International Championship.

However, Garcia paid tribute to Mone during the course of the bout when he stomped on the injured hand of Cassidy. This was a callback to Mercedes Mone’s , formerly known as Sasha Banks in WWE, memorable match with Bayley from NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn.

On May 11, Daniel Garcia took to Twitter to retweet the spot and put the caption “Mone,” which Mercedes responded to with a “money-mouth face” emoji.

Garcia would later retweet her response and posted a photo of himself rocking the old Sasha Banks’ Boss shades when he was younger.

Mercedes Mone will next compete at NJPW Resurgence on May 21 when she takes part in the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship tournament.
