Mercedes Mone First Championship Defence Announced

The opponent for Mercedes Mone in her upcoming first championship defence of a title has now been officially announced.

Back at Wrestle Dynasty, AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone added two more titles to her collection, when she defeated Mina Shirakawa to capture the Undisputed British Women’s Championship from RevPro.

Mercedes has yet to make a defence of the title, though her first defence had been announced to take place at the RevPro High Stakes event in Doncaster on April 20, though her opponent was not yet known.

Today, it was officially announced by RevPro that Mercedes would defend the title against Kanji on the show.

Mercedes recently defended the AEW TBS Championship at AEW Revolution in Los Angeles, when she defeated Momo Watanabe of STARDOM to retain the gold.

Mercedes is set to face off against Billie Starkz for the title on next week’s episode of AEW Dynamite following recent weeks of backstage tension between the two.
