Former Top WWE Star Spotted In Chicago For IMPACT Wrestling TV Taping

A huge top star has been spotted backstage at the IMPACT Wrestling taping in Chicago, Illinois.

As previously reported, tonight’s IMPACT Wrestling taping is an important one with the former Naomi in WWE, Trinity Fatu is set to debut with the company.

This would mark her first wrestling appearance since walking out of WWE during an episode of Raw in May 2022 alongside Sasha Banks.

Per PWInsider Elite (via Wrestling Inc.), the former Sasha Banks, now known as Mercedes Mone, has been spotted in Chicago ahead of tonight’s IMPACT television taping.

Mone had been in Japan just days ago, coming off her appearance at STARDOM.

When asked about Mone’s potential involvement at the taping, IMPACT sources reportedly denied that the former IWGP Women’s Champion would be appearing.

This would indicate that Mercedes Mone is simply there in support of Fatu’s debut with the promotion.

This is in a similar fashion to how Trinity has traveled to Japan and San Jose for Mone’s appearances for NJPW and STARDOM.

Mercedes Mone lost the IWGP Women’s Championship to Mayu Iwatani at STARDOM All Star Grand Queendom last Sunday. After conflicting reports about Mercedes Mone’s contract status, the former Sasha Banks will make her next appearance for New Japan on May 21 at NJPW Resurgence.

Trinity Fatu’s debut for IMPACT Wrestling is set to air on next Thursday’s episode on AXS TV.
