IMPACT Women’s Champion Deonna Purrazzo has made her intentions clear for the upcoming IMPACT x NJPW Multiverse United 2 crossover show.
The newly crowned champion has already set her sights on former IWGP Women’s Champion Mercedes Mone for a match on the August 20 card.
Purrazzo recently spoke to WrestleZone regarding the Philadelphia event, and cited Mone as well as two other prominent Japanese stars as ideal opponents.
Purrazzo said:
“Obviously everyone wants to talk about Mercedes, but Mercedes just lost the IWGP Women’s Championship to Mayu Iwatani.
“I’ve been in the ring with Mayu a handful of times in years past and I would love to revisit that. I think that would be interesting,
“And, you know, I’ve never been in the ring with KAIRI, that would be a really cool first-time match.”
While Purrazzo has called IMPACT home for much of her career so far, she did have a successful stint in Japan and STARDOM between 2017-2018.
The IMPACT Women’s Champion also has a favourable history at the Multiverse United event, competing and winning at its first instalment in March in a match that would see her earn a title shot at IMPACT’s Rebellion event.
Purrazzo would of course be successful in her title match, defeating Jordynne Grace to win the vacant championship, on the same night her husband Steve Maclin won the IMPACT World Heavyweight Championship.
