Mercedes Mone Discusses How She Incorporated Her Wrestling Character Into ‘The Mandalorian’ Disney +

Mercedes Mone has discussed how she has incorporated her wrestling character into “The Mandalorian.”

Since 2020, Mercedes Mone, real name Mercedes Varnado, has played the role of Koska Reeves in “The Mandalorian” on Disney+.

Reeves is a member of the Nite Owls and one of the Mandalorian warriors working for Bo-Katan Kryze, played by Katee Sackhoff.

Appearing at Megacon alongside Sackhoff, Mone was asked about portraying a strong female character on the show. She answered:

“I really took a lot of myself and turned it up. I took a lot of my wrestling character, being a boss and a badass, and didn’t take no for an answer and that could stand up to any man that wanted to step in her way and take him down and throw a tornado DDT.”

“I wanted her to be who I am, just a badass and going in there with Katee, I had to step up my game because she is a legit badass.”

Mercedes Mone is set to defend the IWGP Women’s Championship against Mayu Iwatani at STARDOM All Star Grand Queendom on April 23.
