Mercedes Varnado Still Appearing At C2E2 Convention

Mercedes Varnado Still Appearing At C2E2 Convention WWE

It’s time to get on our detective hats again as we scour the adverts for upcoming appearances of Sasha Banks for clues about a return to WWE.

Earlier today we brought you the curious story of some more unusual social media activity by which the previously announced appearance for Mercedes Varnado (known in WWE as Sasha Banks) was still advertised as appearing at this weekend’s C2E2 convention.

Sasha broke her social media silence today, responding to a tweet advertising her for the C2E2 convention tomorrow night. The advertisement featured her name listed as ‘Mercedes Varnado’ and credited her as ‘The Mandalorian’.

While Sasha, as well as Naomi (Trinity Fatu), is still listed on the site as a guest for the show, but the tweet specifically advertising her has been removed which led to some fans online speculating that tonight (August 5) might really be the night!

However in a new update from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, they have confirmed that Mercedes Varnado is still set to appear at her previously booked convention appearances at the C2E2 convention coming up this weekend in Chicago, Illinois.

And some boots on the ground reporting from an unlikely source as AEW star Danhausen has shared a photo of a marquee advert for the convention which features Sasha Banks, himself, CM Punk and Mick Foley on Twitter and tagged her.

These details are unlikely to debunk the possibility of Sasha Banks popping up on WWE SmackDown as it is entirely possible that she would still be approved to appear at a previously scheduled event as a part of her reportedly negotiated return.

If you’re in the UK but didn’t manage to get tickets to Clash at the Castle on September 3, WrestleTalk is hosting a watch party at The Joiner on Worship in Shoreditch, London, and we’d love for you to join us! Click here for more details.
