Mia Yim Debuts On NXT TV

Following her stellar run in this year’s Mae Young Classic, new NXT signee Mia Yim made her TV debut on the brand during last night’s episode. She showed off her skill between the ropes in a match against Aliyah and received early and adoring support from the Full Sail faithful.

Although her opening bout was nothing special or near the level of her multiple matches during the all-women’s tournament, Yim immediately proved how much star power she can bring to the table. There is little doubt that her run in the black and yellow brand will be fruitful.

This wasn’t actually her debut NXT match, however, as she faced Charlotte Flair in 2014, acting as fodder for the ‘Queen’s feud with Sasha Banks at the time. She was unnamed during this appearance though so we’ll let her off.

For those who haven’t been keeping up-to-date with this year’s MYC (shame on you), the ‘Blasian Baddie’ has been one of the standout stars. She defeated longtime frienemy Allysin Kay in the first round and took out WWE veteran and returning favorite Kaitlyn in the second.

Unfortunately for Yim, she came up against eventual finalist Toni Storm in the quarters and ate a Storm Zero after a fantastic match, putting over the Aussie in the process.

With the tournament behind her, Yim has set her focus to NXT alongside other new signees Matt Riddle, Chelsea Green, Punishment Martinez, Humberto Carrillo, Daniel Vidot, and Jordan Omogbehin.

Do you see a bright future for Mia Yim? Let us know in the comments.
