Backstage clarification has emerged regarding a recent name change for WWE star and OC member “Michin” Mia Yim.
Mia Yim has recently taken to referring to herself as “Michin” in promos, leading viewers to believe that this would be her new on-screen name.
However, ring announcers and commentators have still often referred to her by her original WWE name of Mia Yim.
As the word “Michin” is Korean for “Crazy”, some have speculated that it is less of a new name than it is a nickname (akin to calling her “Crazy Mia”).
However, a new report from Fightful Select (subscription required) suggest that the character’s new name really is Michin, as production notes for the latest episode (January 9) of Raw refer to the character my the new moniker.
The wrestler, whose real name is Stephanie Lee, returned to WWE television in November 2022.
She was previously released from the company almost exactly one year earlier in November 2021.
