Mick Foley says he would choose to be Mankind in a hypothetical showdown with a top WWE star.
Mick Foley’s professional wrestling career will always be remembered for his remarkable ability to play three unique personas. Dude Love, Cactus Jack and Mankind all brought different elements of the versatile performer that Foley was.
Introduced in 1996, Mankind came into WWE as a deranged psychopath who was hell bent on destroying his opponents, such as The Undertaker.
However, Foley was able to make Mankind a sympathetic figure by merging his hardcore and comedic sides to make him a widely popular competitor who would go on to win the WWE Championship.
During a recent episode of Foley Is Pod, “The Hardcore Legend” was asked which one of his personas would he portray during a hypothetical rivalry with Bray Wyatt. Choosing to be Mankind, Foley said:
“If I was wrestling Bray Wyatt, I think it would have to be Mankind.”
“Yeah, Again, it would have that feeling of a monster movie and maybe we could take some creative liberties, you know, as far as the indestructible aspect goes.”
“I think we would have pushed each other to do really great promos and I think we would have paid it off in the ring.”
Bray Wyatt made his return to WWE at Extreme Rules 2022. However, he has not wrestled since defeating LA Knight in the Mountain Dew Pitch Black Match at Royal Rumble 2023.
As previously reported, an update has been provided in regards to Bray Wyatt’s status since being absent from WWE programming for the past two months.
