Mick Foley Calls For Attitude Era Star To Be Inducted Into WWE Hall Of Fame WWE

Hardcore legend Mick Foley believes former WWE (then WWF) Women’s champion and Attitude era star Sable should be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Speaking on the latest episode of his podcast, Foley is Pod,  Mrs Foley’s little boy paid tribute to Sable during her time, saying:

“Sable undoubtedly deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. I think it’s just a matter of when and if, but definitely, she was one of the most over women of her generation.”

Sable made her WWE debut at WrestleMania 12 in 1996 when she accompanied a certain Hunter Hearst Helmsley to the ring.

Her role developed in a storyline where Helmsley disrespected Sable in a backstage segment. Sable’s then-spouse, Marc Mero, came to her defence and she became his manager.

Her character progressed in the company, entering into a feud with Goldust’s sidekick, Luna Vachon.

Sable and Jacqueline notably feuded over the WWE Women’s Championship after its reintroduction in 1998. Jacqueline was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2016.

A lot of credit for the women’s division is usually given to the ‘Women’s Evolution’ in 2015 and 2016. The Diva championship was replaced with the women’s title, and the whole ‘Diva’ moniker was dropped in an announcement at WrestleMania 32 in 2016.

Many regard Sable as an early trailblazer in televised women’s professional wrestling, and believe her Hall of Fame induction is long overdue.
