Mickie James has made her first post-WWE wrestling appearance, appearing for NWA.
James appeared on today’s (June 8) episode of NWA Power as it was announced she would take the reins for NWA’s all-women’s pay-per-view as the top executive of the show. The show was also given the name NWA In Power.
James said on the show that this is something she wanted to do for a long time. However, she had “been cut off at every opportunity”. She also said that they have a “real opportunity here with real history”.
She added that she wants the best women’s wrestlers in the world to compete on the show even if they are under contract elsewhere.
James had been released by WWE on April 15, 2021, after over four years with the company.
A number of former WWE stars including Mickie James and Maria Kanellis have called WWE out for their lack of a sequel to their Evolution pay-per-view. Now, James and Maria have both been heading up their own efforts to grow women’s wrestling.
