Mike Chioda Reveals Presentation Request Vince McMahon Had For WWE Referees WWE

Veteran referee Mike Chioda has revealed some of the requests Vince McMahon had for WWE referees.

Chioda worked as a WWE official for 31 years before his release from the company in April 2020.

During the latest edition of his Monday Mailbag, Chioda recalled working with Vince McMahon, and learning exactly what the boss expected from his zebras.

Noting that McMahon wasn’t a fan of referees with visible tattoos, Chioda said:

“That’s a no-no. Can’t be wearing sleeves, can’t have tats on the arms. I have one on my arm up here, but my sleeve always covered it.”

Chioda also recalled McMahon asking him to lose weight. Noting that prospective referees train at the WWE Performance Center nowadays, Chioda noted:

“I remember him telling me, ‘drop a few pounds’ and stuff like that, and I’m like, ‘I’m working on it, sir!’

“I mean, they’re working out more than they’re learning how to referee down there,” Chioda jokes. “These kids come in good shape nowadays, man. Vince has got on me about certain things and it’s exactly how he says it: ‘Hey, pal!'”

While McMahon has retained his creative duties, he stepped away from his WWE CEO and Chairman positions last month amid ‘hush pact’ allegations, with Stephanie McMahon replacing him.

The latest report from the Wall Street Journal indicated that Vince McMahon has paid over $12 million in “hush money” over the past 16 years to “suppress allegations of sexual misconduct and infidelity”, including a $7.5 million payment to a former WWE wrestler. Click here to see the full report.
