Mike Chioda Wants To See Randy Orton Have Another WWE Title Run

Veteran referee Mike Chioda has revealed that he’d like to see Randy Orton have another WWE Title run.

Following WWE Royal Rumble, PWInsider reported that both Riddle and Orton’s names were in the conversation when WWE was deciding on the winner of the men’s Rumble.

On the Monday Mailbag Podcast, Chioda noted that he’d like to see Orton receive a singles push, praising the former WWE Champion for being a phenomenal worker. Wanting to see Orton lift the WWE Championship again, Chioda said:

“I heard some rumors they were going to push Randy Orton and put him over on the Rumble and somehow that changed, of course, it did change. At what point, I don’t know, but I’d like to see Randy get a push. He deserves it to get back to that WWE title.

“The guy’s phenomenal, a hell of a worker, and has done tons of his matches. I don’t know why, I’d like to see Randy get that extra push. He’s been with Riddle, trying to build up Riddle but I don’t know, they probably thought Riddle wasn’t ready yet. To put Randy in that spotlight, I would’ve loved that match because you just saw Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns.”

Orton last held the WWE Championship in 2020, defeating Drew McIntyre for the gold at Hell in a Cell. He held the title for just 22 days before McIntyre won it back.

The Viper’s tag partner, Riddle, will compete for the WWE Championship at next week’s Elimination Chamber event, inside the structure.

The WWE Championship has already changed hands twice in 2022. Stay up to date with every WWE title change this year using our tracker, at this link.
