On last night’s episode of 205 Live, Lio Rush announced an open challenge to see if anyone could end his undefeated streak since joining the purple brand. In a somewhat surprising yet intriguing move, out strolled Lince Dorado of the Lucha House Party.
The two put on a brilliant bout which saw Dorado answer the call with force. He wore down the ‘Man of the Hour’ with some fantastic high spots and even clocked him with the Golden Rewind. With the match seemingly won for the ‘Golden Lynx’, some familiarly obnoxious music hit and out came Maria Kanellis, alone, at the top of the ramp.
Sure enough, with Dorado staring at the former TNA Knockouts Champion from the top rope, in came her husband Mike Kanellis with the attack.
This solidifies the couple’s official debut on 205 Live and what a debut it was. Kanellis beat down Dorado to confirm his heelish persona in case you had forgotten with the amount of time he has been absent from our screens. An absence, by the way, that was made all the more disappointing when we were reminded on commentary that he has been with WWE for well over a year now.
If Buddy Murphy is anything to go by though, Kanellis could become a sensation in WWE‘s cruiserweight division. Let’s just hope that this feud with the Lucha House Party leads to bigger things for the former Mike Bennett and his career can bounce back from so long on the shelf.
