TNA Wrestling Star’s Contract Expiring Soon, WWE Interested

TNA Wrestling Star’s Contract Expiring Soon, WWE Interested WWE/TNA

A top TNA Wrestling star’s contract is reportedly set to expire soon, with WWE said to be interested in his signature.

Last night’s episode of Impact saw a shock title change as Mike Santana dropped the TNA World Championship to Call Your Shot Gauntlet co-winner Frankie Kazarian following an invasion from several members of the WWE NXT locker room.

Lexis King, Charlie Dempsey, Robert Stone, Tyriek Igwe, Tyson Dupont, Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo and Brooks Jensen attacked Santana during his match with Ryan Nemeth, leading to Kazarian cashing in his title opportunity successfully.

Following this title change PWInsider Elite (via WrestlePurists) has reported that Mike Santana’s TNA contract is set to expire at the end of the year.

While an extension is believed to be on the table for the 34-year-old, WWE reportedly has interest “dating back months” in signing the former AEW star.

It was reported yesterday that former TNA World Champion Joe Hendry has now officially signed with WWE after making several appearances for the company throughout the NXT and TNA partnership.

Regarding Santana, there has been uncertainty surrounding his status heading into tonight’s TNA Turning Point pay-per-view at Full Sail University in Florida, with PWInsider reporting that he had not shown up to the event as of earlier this afternoon.

While they have now reported that Santana is at Turning Point, Fightful Select has stated that the situation is a part of an angle following his title loss last night.
