A major update has emerged regarding Miro following his removal from the official AEW roster page.
Hours after it was reported that Malakai Black’s AEW contract had expired, it was spotted that Miro and Ricky Starks had been removed from the company’s roster page.
While there has not yet been official word regarding whether Starks has departed AEW, we now know that Miro has exited the company according to a new report from PWInsider.
As revealed by Mike Johnson, Miro and AEW have mutually agreed the termination of his contract, with the two sides said to have been working towards an agreement for “some time” after he had requested his release in the Fall last year.
After spending nine years in WWE Miro joined AEW in 2020 and would capture the TNT Championship within his first year in the company.
While his run in the company saw plenty of highlights early on, the former Rusev was barely active through 2022 and 2023, before sitting out the entirety of 2024.
He last appeared on AEW TV at the inaugural Worlds End pay-per-view in December 2023, where he defeated now WWE star Andrade.
