Miro Reveals Vince McMahon Gave Him A Bonus For Breaking Unwritten Rule

Miro had a very turbulent final few months in WWE. From being involved in the wedding angle with Bobby Lashley and Lana, to being released in a pandemic, it was less than ideal. However, he has now revealed a bizarre story about his final television match.

On the February 17 episode of Raw, Rusev and Humberto Carrillo took on Angel Garza and Bobby Lashley. As Miro has now revealed on Talk is Jericho, he broke an unwritten rule during this last match but rather than being punished he was given a bonus. Here is the quote:

“The last match I had on TV, I knew that it was my last match. It was me and Humberto Carrillo, the young kid, against [Angel Garza] and Bobby [Lashley]. The match started, we were supposed to go over. Next thing you know, I’m losing. Next thing you know, [Garza] is pinning me. Not Bobby which is even the feud, it’s the other guy. I already have no wins against none of these people, right? So, it don’t matter. I’m a professional. Cool, whatever you wanna do, that’s what we do.

So then, here comes the finish, a rollup, the instructions were for him to leave the ring. Next thing you know I see the ref goes to his ear. Next thing you know, Angel goes up to the corner and raises his hand while I’m in the ring selling the rollup. And I turn around, out of the back of my eye and see what is happening and I’m like-I’m not going to say a bad word- but I charged him and beat the f*** out of him.

But yeah I just saw him there and my eyes turned red because I knew what they were trying to do. And they always told me ‘you gotta protect yourself. Nobody is going to look after you.’ And I went and just started clubbing him and he rolled out and I broke Joey Mercury’s rule which is if you’re babyface and you lose you never raise your hand. But I just so wanted to stick it to everybody and say ‘it don’t f***ing matter who wins or loses because I am Miro’ and just raised my hands and that was it.

I came to the back and Vince said he was going to give me a bonus. He said he was going to give me a bonus because ‘oh they’re trying to bury you out there. You really took care of yourself. This is exactly what I need to see. You’re very aggressive. Good stuff.’ And that was my bonus.”

Miro was released by WWE along with a sizable chunk of the roster on Black Wednesday. Since then he has debuted in AEW as ‘The Best Man’, teaming with Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford.
