A major AEW name is confirmed to be making an appearance on the upcoming edition of AEW Dynamite on October 26.
AEW has confirmed we will be hearing from the self-proclaimed Devil himself, MJF on Dynamite.
Last week’s Tuesday night edition of Dynamite on October 18 saw Jon Moxley retain the World AEW championship after an unfortunate turn of events that saw Adam Page sustain a concussion following a clothesline that led to him landing face-first on the mat. You can the latest on Page’s injury right here.
AEW staff and medical crew handled the situation professionally and safely as the match was cut short. MJF and Moxley remained in character while MJF took to the ring to announce that he would be cashing in his chip from the Casino Ladder Match at All Out on September 4 to face Moxley at AEW Full Gear on November 19 for the title.
Adam Page got his title shot ahead of MJF as part of the stipulation for winning the Battle Royal at the AEW Dynamite Anniversary on October 5, 2022.
If last week’s promo is anything to go by, MJF’s spot this week will be a must-see.
On the October 18 edition of Dynamite, MJF captivated the crowd with an origin story of sorts.
While standing in the ring opposite another villain, William Regal, MJF described trying out for a WWE contract, but ultimately being told he was too young by Regal.
Initially, Regal stayed in touch with MJF, asking him to send him one match and promo a month so he could feedback on his progress. After the third month, however, Regal told MJF to stop sending the videos.
The Salt of The Earth described this moment as giving him a dark night of the soul, which he turned into motivation to ultimately reach the top and confront Regal today.
Regal, however, was not buying the sob story and recalled his tough start wrestling in the carnival scene in the UK from the age of 16. He claimed that he saw what MJF had to offer, so he was cruel to be kind and shut down communication to spurn MJF so he could meet his potential.
Regal then urged him to take on the best in the business to prove his worth.
This confrontation may have been what inspired MJF to call his shot later that night. Check back for all the latest news as Dynamite unfolds on October 26.
