MJF opened AEW Dynamite with a promo that saw take shots at a number of members of the men’s roster ahead of Forbidden Door.
Footage from the opening segment of the June 5 episode of AEW Dynamite can be seen below this news story.
The segment saw an appearance from Rush who interrupted MJF, taking issue with the returning star’s reappearance and attitude.
With the pair needing to be separated, it was clear that MJF’s return feud would be with Rush.
There could be a couple of weeks to wait before we see the pair in singles action, though.
Dave Meltzer provided further information on the plans during Wrestling Observer Radio, saying:
“As far as Forbidden Door goes it looks like MJF and Rush is going to be at Forbidden Door.”

Swerve Strickland will defend the AEW World Championship against Swerve Strickland while AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm faces Mina Shirakawa.
Mercedes Mone will defend the AEW TBS Championship against NJPW Strong Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer in a Winner Takes All Match.
