MJF and other AEW stars have been confirmed for an upcoming charity show to support a wrestler battling ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).
Joey Janela is promoting the CannonballFest benefit show which takes place on September 14, with proceeds going to independent wrestler Jeff Cannonball.
Details for the show were posted to Twitter on June 11, with Janela going on to confirm it take place at New Providence High School in New Jersey and will stream on YouTube.
AEW’s MJF was confirmed as appearing on the show, with Janela explaining the extents he will go to in order to deliver the “one of the biggest shows” in independent wrestling history, tweeting:
“9/14/2025 will be one of the biggest shows in independent history for Jeff Cannonball and I will go to any means necessary to keep that word!
“I had to reach out to someone I despise with a burning passion to make that a reality!
“Maxwell Jacob Friedman comes to CANNONBALLFEST!”
As can be seen in the tweet at this link, MJF isn’t missing an opportunity to be true to himself, with the graphic noting:
“*MJF claims that he will be the only person getting paid at this show and it will be double his normal rate because he wants a new Rolex and couldn’t care less about Jeff Cannonball & his family.”
Joining MJF, as confirmed by Janela, will be two other AEW stars in the form of Willow Nightingale and Speedball Mike Bailey.
Tickets for the show are not yet on sale, although Janela will no doubt provide details through his Twitter account.
A GoFundMe to raise funds to support Jeff Cannonball is currently underway, and details can be found here.
