There has been an update on MJF’s status with AEW following his return to television at last night’s WrestleDream event.
The former AEW World Champion made his return at last night’s WrestleDream pay-per-view event in Tacoma, where he confronted Daniel Garcia.
MJF had been off television since All Out, when Daniel Garcia hit a Piledriver off the second rope to MJF, writing him off television.
During his absence, MJF has been filming the upcoming Happy Gilmore sequel with Adam Sandler, in which he is set to have a significant role in the movie.
MJF’s return came as a surprise, as many had expected that he would still be filming for the role.
In an update from Fightful Select (subscription required), MJF claimed to those backstage that he would be returning to filming Happy Gilmore 2 following WrestleDeram.
MJF wasn’t the only name to return at WrestleDream, as MJF’s former partner Adam Cole also made his return after being out of action for over a year, and off television since Double or Nothing.
MJF has commented on Cole’s return, which you can see here.
