AEW
NJPW star Great-O-Khan has praised MJF and has shared his honest thoughts on AEW.
Great-O-Khan & Jeff Cobb notably dropped their IWGP Tag Team Championship to FTR during a tag-team fourway bout at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. FTR’s ROH Tag Team Championship was also on the line during the bout.
Speaking with Wrestle Inn, O-Khan argued that AEW has a lot of inexperienced names on the roster.
Singling out MJF as a star who has the potential to become one of the best wrestlers in the world, O-Khan said:
“We felt that AEW is full of Indy wrestlers. There are plenty of formidable wrestlers there, but they are unrefined and ill-educated. A shame.
“We care not for pro-wrestling, so we haven’t seen or heard of MJF. Yet clearly he is one of a precious few who truly understand the meaning of true ‘professional wrestling’, and we think he must be one of the very best in the world.”
MJF made his AEW return at All Out, winning the Casino Ladder Match with help from a group led by Stokely Hathaway.
The AEW World Championship is currently vacant, with Tony Khan stripping CM Punk of the title on the September 7 edition of Dynamite. A tournament is currently taking place to crown a new World Champion, with the finals set for Dynamite: Grand Slam on September 21.
FTR are slated to defend their IWGP Tag Team Championship at NJPW Royal Quest II.
