AEW star MJF has reportedly joined the cast of a Hollywood movie sequel, set to release in theaters in late 2026.
While MJF has already achieved great success in his pro wrestling career, 2025 has seen the former AEW World Champion breakout in Hollywood.
After playing the role of one of Adam Sandler’s sons in Netflix’s Summer comedy hit Happy Gilmore 2, Deadline is reporting that MJF has now landed another Hollywood role.
According to a new report, MJF has joined the cast for Universal Pictures & 87North’s Violent Night 2, the sequel to the 2022 action comedy original, which starred David Harbour.
Harbour returns as the lead in the sequel, along with Kristen Bell, Daniela Melchior, Jared Harris, Joe Pantoliano and Andrew “King Bach” Bachelor.
It’s not yet known what role MJF will be playing in the movie, with details regarding its plot currently “under wraps”.
Violent Night 2 is planned for a release in theaters on Wednesday, December 4, 2026.
This week has been a big one already for MJF, with the 29-year-old getting married to AEW backstage interviewer Alicia Atout on Friday, September 5, before then making a surprise appearance on the following night’s episode of Collision to attack Mark Briscoe.
MJF and Briscoe are set to face off at AEW All Out on September 20, with Briscoe having the power to name the stipulation for the match.
