MJF has sent a stark warning to his opponent ahead of their AEW World Championship match on Dynamite Maximum Carnage.
The January 7 episode of AEW Dynamite saw MJF attempt to reclaim this diamond ring, offering an olive branch to Bandido in the form of putting in a word in with Tony Khan.
A promise of a pay-per-view match in a decade or so wasn’t enough to win over Bandido, with MJF resorting to a low blow in order to get the Dynamite Diamond Ring back.
Bandido wasn’t done, however, avoiding a further attack, which levelled interpreter/stooge Jonathan Cruz, leading to MJF being on the receiving end of a low blow and the Dynamite Diamon Ring back in the luchador’s hands.
With all this leading to next week’s episode of Dynamite, MJF had a warning to his opponent in a post on Twitter, telling Bandido:
“You should have took the deal.
“Now you’ll deal with the Devil.”
MJF became a two-time AEW World Champion at Worlds End on December 27, defeating Samoa Joe, Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland in a four-way match.
Retaining the AEW World Championship next Wednesday will see MJF head to Limitless Wrestling to defend the title on January 16.
