An AEW star has revealed that he wants to work with WWE’s John Cena either in wrestling or outside of the business.
MJF is starring in the Netflix movie Happy Gilmore 2, which sees Adam Sandler reprise his role from the 1996 sports comedy.
Although heavily featured in AEW, MJF recently spoke to TV Insider and hinted at his Hollywood ambitions.
The AEW star would name WWE Champions among the actors he wants to work with in the future, saying:
“I want to work with John Cena at some point in my career. That would mean an awful lot to me.
“Whether that is inside the wrestling bubble or outside the wrestling bubble. That’s the first name that comes to mind for sure.
“I would say I have to throw Dave Bautista on that list, too. Also, my good buddy Paul Walter Hauser. I think he is one of the best actors in the world. To be involved in a project with him would be an awful lot.”
John Cena and MJF crossed paths at the premiere of Iron Claw, which took place in December 2023.
MJF would later reveal details of the conversation he had with Cena, including a moment where the WWE star stated he hoped to see him “play for the right team one day.”
John Cena can currently be seen in the action comedy movie Heads of State, starring as the US President opposite Idris Elba’s UK Prime Minister.
Elba has recently revealed he would be open to being part of John Cena’s farewell tour of WWE which concludes in December of this year.
