MLW Star Richard Holliday Publicly Reveals Cancer Diagnosis MLW

Major League Wrestling star Richard Holliday will be out of action for several months after publicly revealed he has been diagnosed with cancer.

Richard Holliday has long been a rising star for Major League Wrestling. Starting as a tag team partner of MJF in the Dynasty stable, he has grown into one of the promotion’s top heels.

The 30 year old has not competed since MLW’s Battle Riot event in New York City earlier this year, but fans finally know why.

In a new interview with Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso, Holliday revealed that he has been diagnosed with cancer.

He stated:

“When I wrestled Hammer in June, I was taking Dayquil to try to get through every day.”

“I kept pushing and pushing, but I just felt off. At that point, I had just got home from California. The whole time I was there, I was freezing.”

“I was pale white when I left after a month.  I was taking iron pills to try to counter that, but my levels kept dropping.”

“They checked if I had internal bleeding, which I didn’t, and then they ran a litany of tests and a scan of my body for a possible case of lymphoma in September. Those tests confirmed it was Hodgkin’s lymphoma.”

Holliday is currently halfway through 12 rounds of chemotherapy.

The MLW star continued on to say:

“My plan is not to lose to lymphoma; my plan is to inspire people. I’m going to come out of this stronger, and I’m going to let people know they can beat it, too.”

Richard Holliday replied to the article on Twitter and simply said, “I am going to beat cancer.”

Everyone here at WrestleTalk sends our best wishes to Richard Holliday and his family as he fights this battle.
