Moose Explains His Actions: Impact Results

Eli Drake vs. Stone Rockwell

Eli Drake comes to the ring and cuts a promo.  Lots of Dummy, Yeah chants by the Toronto crowd.  Drake offers an open challenge for someone who can come out and impress him.  Out comes…Stone Rockwell.  Apparently, Rockwell has his on show on the Impact Twitch channel.  After a back in forth promo, a ref comes out to start the match.  Drake hits Rockwell with the Gravy Train and the match is over.

Nate’s Take:
I love Eli Drake, but this was bad.  Drake can be exceptional on the mic when he’s motivated and has a direction.  When he’s out there just to be funny and interact with the crowd, it’s annoying.  It looks like he’ll be facing Hendry at Wrestling MediaCon, so hopefully, these open challenges will be over soon and we’ll get to see that program on TV.

Backstage Segment:

Alisha Edwards comes into Austin Aries, Killer Cross, and Moose’s locker room.  She screams at Moose about him turning on Eddie last week.  Aries leads the group out of the locker room.  Cross gives a creepy “see ya later” as they walk out.

Tessa Blanchard defeats Su Yung to Retain the Knockouts Championship

Tessa Blanchard and Su Yung went back and forth throughout the match to kick off the second hour of Impact.  The match started off fast with Blanchard going for a quick pin and then Yung hit the Panic Switch.  Yung went for the Toxic Glove but Tessa escaped the ring.

Later the two traded submission moves.  Tessa locked in the Indian Deathlock, but Yung wouldn’t submit.  After a spot with a chair and some more submissions, Blanchard hit a top rope cutter and looked to be injured.  After the commercial, we get a few more minutes of action.  Ultimately, Blanchard hits her Buzzsaw DDT for the win.

After the match, the undead bridesmaids come out to the ring with a coffin.  Yung hits Blanchard with a Panic Switch.  Yung grabs the championship and stuffs Tessa in the coffin.  Out comes Kiera Hogan and Allie to make the save.  They help Blanchard out of the coffin.  Blanchard is not having it.  She screams that she doesn’t need their help and walks to the back alone.

Nate’s Take:
Blanchard might just be my MVP of Impact right now.  She is presenting herself as a star.  She got some mainstream recognition on TMZ after Redefined.  She’s still a little green, but she is the future of this division.  Don Callis is great at putting her over on commentary.  I’m not into dead brides, so I hope Blanchard will move onto Allie for Bound For Glory.  If you haven’t been watching Blanchard, you need to start.
