More information has emerged regarding reports that CM Punk was in talks with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) to return to the ring.
On the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer also stated that Punk and AEW had been in contact, but noted that AEW President Tony Khan has been in talks with “everyone”.
Meltzer had previously reported that AEW were hoping to sign a major star last month. He revealed that he knew that AEW were working on two signings “bigger than Andrade” in June, but no official announcements were made before the end of the month.
It has been speculated that Daniel Bryan could show up in AEW following reports that Bryan is not listed on WWE’s internal roster. There has been no confirmation that Bryan has been in contact with any AEW officials, however.
There has also been no confirmation that Punk has signed a contract, just that Punk has had discussions with a company official..
