More Details On Edge Injury At WWE Backlash Tapings

More details have come to light regarding the injury suffered by Edge during tapings for his match against Randy Orton which aired last night at WWE Backlash.

Dave Meltzer reports on Wrestling Observer Radio that the injury was suffered during re-takes after the entire match had already been taped once in full, hence why you won’t have really noticed the injury while watching the bout.

The exact spot it happened isn’t known but it was speculated it could have been when he came off the top rope to take an RKO.

The injury he suffered was a torn triceps, meaning he will be out of action for several months, probably about half a year give or take.

Meltzer also speculated about the possibility of steroids playing a part, as they are known to weaken tendons, but was very cautious around this specific topic, being sure not to confirm either way.

The match was presented with enhanced camera angles and sound effects, which have divided opinions. Some believe they added to the match while some believe it would have been better served without such additions.

Randy Orton won in the end with a punt to the head, which would give a valid storyline reason for Edge to be out of action for months while recovering from the injury.
