AEW surprised a lot of people last night, when they announced during a backstage segment that Kris Statlander had suffered an injury, and was not cleared to compete.
AEW never announced the extent of Statlander’s injury, but stated that Toni Storm was now the number one contender following her absence.
Per PWInsider, Statlander was on hand at last night’s Quake by the Lake show, but was backstage on crutches.
The belief is that she has suffered a bad knee injury, but it is not known how long she will be out of action for.
