WWE have announced five more names for the second annual Mae Young Classic and they do not disappoint.
Along with Pilipino star Crystal, Kavita Devi, the superb Mia Yim, and the excellent Mercedes Martinez are back for a second crack. They will be joined by NXT UK and WXW star, Killer Kelly. They of course join Kaitlyn, Rhea Ripley, Deonna Purrazzo, Io Shari, Jessie Elaban, Kacy Catanzaro, Nicole Matthews, Reina Gonzalez, Taynara Conti, and Tegan Nox.
Last year, Mia Yim best Sarah Logan in the Round of 32 and fell to eventual winner Shayna Baszler in the Round of 16. Many believed she should have gone further.
Mercedes Martinez went all the way to the Semi-Finals, defeating Xia Li in the Round of 32, Princess Sugehit in the Round of 16, and Abbey Laith in the Quarter-Finals. Like Yim, she fell to current NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler.
Portuguese sensation Killer Kelly is a stalwart in WXW, reigning as their inaugural Women’s Champion. She has also been signed to NXT UK and was first seen on the brand during the two night special at the Royal Albert Hall. On Night 1 she lost a Triple Threat Match including Toni Storm and Isla Dawn, and Night 2 she looked at the lights for Charlie Morgan.
