More Matches Being Added To NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver?

It appears that some more matches could end up being added to the upcoming NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver shows.

Coming out of last night’s NXT, there were four matches confirmed for each night, but a couple more have been teased.

The first night is restricted to the usual USA Network two-hour slot (with a bit of an overrun), but theoretically since the second night is on Peacock and the WWE Network, there shouldn’t be such restraints.

During NXT last night, there was a backstage confrontation between the brand’s Women’s Tag Team Champions Ember Moon & Shotzi Blackheart and Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell.

LeRae said she and Hartwell will challenge for the championship on “their stage”, hinting that could be a match added to TakeOver.

Another development on social media has seen Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter call out Xia Li.

There is still one week of NXT before TakeOver so that could be next week instead, but with reports that management is high on the Tian Sha storyline, perhaps we’ll see it take place on TakeOver.

The confirmed card for night one so far is:

  • NXT Women’s Championship – Io Shirai (c) vs Raquel Gonzalez
  • NXT UK Championship – WALTER (c) vs Tommaso Ciampa
  • NXT Tag Team Championships – MSK vs Grizzled Young Veterans vs Legado Del Fantasma
  • NXT North American Championship #1 Contender Gauntlet Eliminator featuring 6 competitors TBD

And for night two:

  • NXT Championship – Finn Balor (c) vs Karrion Kross
  • Adam Cole vs Kyle O’Reilly
  • NXT Cruiserweight Championship Unification Ladder Match – Santos Escobar (c) vs Jordan Devlin (c)
  • NXT North American Championship – Johnny Gargano (c) vs Gauntlet Eliminator Winner
