An update on more upcoming WWE and AEW pay-per-view events set to go head-to-head following Battleground and Double or Nothing.
Sunday night saw WWE and AEW go head-to-head with their events, with AEW’s Double or Nothing and WWE’s NXT Battleground going head-to-head.
Following the head-to-head, WWE announced today that NXT would host it’s Great American Bash event on Saturday, July 12, the same night as Saturday Night’s Main Event in Atlanta that night.
Incidentally, the event will be going head-to-head with AEW’s All In pay-per-view event that day, which is set to kick off earlier in the day.
However, it seems as though Great American Bash and All In will be the last time the two companies go head-to-head with big events this year.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez noted that there are ‘at least’ two other instances coming up later this year where the companies will be head-to-head.
He said:
“I was told, at this point – and don’t ask me for more details because I don’t have them – but at this point, there are at least, I was told, two other instances coming up this year where they plan on doing head-to-head with AEW battles and these big long weekends.”
AEW All In is set to feature Hangman Adam Page challenging Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship, as well as Mercedes Mone challenging ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s World Championship.
WWE is reportedly planning more head-to-heads with AEW this year:
