We are saddened to report that former NWA superstar ‘Mr. Wrestling II’ Johnny Walker has passed away. He was 85 years old. We currently do not have a cause of death.

Walker was a big star during the 70s and 80s in pro wrestling. His biggest impact came in Georgia Championship Wrestling, Championship Wrestling from Florida, and Mid-South. The NWA Twitter account made a post extending their sympathies on his passing. They also mentioned that he was President Jimmy Carter’s favourite wrestler.

Walker won numerous championships throughout his career, including the NWA World Tag Team Championships with Tony Atlas, the Florida Heavyweight Championship, and the Georgia Heavyweight Championship. He had his last official match in 2007 at the age of 73.
Following the conclusion of his career, Walker was inducted into multiple hall of fames. He was inducted into the WCW Hall of Fame in 1993, the NWA Hall of Fame in 2012, and the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2014.
