Here is the latest on plans for WWE Day 1, following a number of top stars being pulled from the WWE Holiday Tour.
Last week, it was reported that WWE hoped that WWE Day 1 is far enough away that stars who had tested positive for COVID-19 would be cleared to compete come January 1.
Since then, the likes of WWE Champion Big E, Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Universal Champion Roman Reigns missed their respective December 26 house shows, with Seth Rollins revealing that he has tested positive for COVID-19.
As per WrestleVotes on Twitter, if WWE Day 1 was happening tonight, multiple matches planned for the event would have to be changed. Everything appears to be up in the air, with WWE reportedly still hopeful they can keep the card as is, according to the report:
“Regarding the availability of talent for this weekends Day 1 PPV, source told me this morning that if the show was tonight, multiple matches would have to be changed. Good thing the event isn’t until Saturday & WWE is hopeful they can keep the card as is. All fluid at this time.”

PWInsider has also noted that WWE has taken a ‘the show must go on’ approach to upcoming TV and live events.
We will continue to provide updates on plans for WWE Day 1 as they become available.
