Mustafa Ali Makes In-Ring Return At House Show

Mustafa Ali made his in-ring return at a house show in Minneapolis, Minnesota last night in a losing effort to WWE Champion Daniel Bryan.

Ali was recently pulled from the WWE Championship Elimination Chamber match as a result of a concussion he’d suffered at a house show, on top of other injury niggles including back issues.

He was replaced by Kofi Kingston, who as we know has become somewhat of a revelation, and now looks set for a WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 35.

Fightful reported prior to Ali’s injury that he was set for a showcase in the gauntlet match on the week of the Chamber. This doesn’t mean Kofi’s run and subsequent push was meant for Ali, but he would have gotten a showcase nonetheless.

The former police officer burst onto SmackDown Live on December 11, 2018 by interrupting Daniel Bryan and going on to pin the WWE Champion in a tag team main event the following week.

Mustafa Ali made his WWE debut in the Cruiserweight Classic tournament of 2016, as a backup replacement no less, and was an ever-present of the 205 Live brand until he made his SmackDown Live debut.
