Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion the Great Khali was very tall, not very manoeuvrable, and had a manager to help him cut promos. Omos is very tall, not very manoeuvrable, and now has a manager to help him cut promos.
As a result, it’s not surprising that a number of comparisons have been made between the two men.
Omos’ new manager MVP has seen these comparisons and has called anyone who agrees with the comparison “an idiot of the highest order”.
Taking to Twitter, he said:
If you compare the not so “Great” Khali to the Colossus @TheGiantOmos you’re an idiot of the highest order.
I’ve been in the ring with both of them. I’m an expert in this craft.
Khali was AWFUL.
Omos has HUGE potential.
Watch how I move…— MVP (@The305MVP) April 27, 2022
Omos will take on Bobby Lashley in a WrestleMania rematch at WrestleMania Backlash next week on May 8, but with MVP now by his side, Omos is a heavy favourite to win the match.
It does feel like a matter of time before Omos is one of WWE’s top champions, but whether it’s as badly received as Great Khali as champion was, we’ll have to wait and see.
