MVP may be known as the manager of The Hurt Syndicate, but the star has opened up about his future in AEW, including his retirement.
With The Hurt Syndicate having seen MVP reunite with Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley, the trio have been a dominant force in AEW.
Although infrequently seen in the ring, compared to Benjamin and Lashley, MVP continues to wrestle, making his in-ring debut for AEW in January.
A recent interview with Andscape shed light on MVP’s wrestling future and the direction he sees his career going in AEW.
As MVP notes, he is yet to officially retire from in-ring competition but has a vision as to how it will go, saying:
“I haven’t officially retired from in-ring action yet. I haven’t had my last match, which will come at some point.
“I’m going to lose to somebody and go out on my back, which is what we were always taught to do.”
He envisages a future that sees him exploit the skills be has built with The Hurt Syndicate (and its earlier incarnation in WWE), saying:
“But there’s a possibility I might be around for a while after that as a mouthpiece for a young talent that needs that.”
MVP departed WWE in August 2024 when his contract expired, with his appearance being at WrestleMania 40 in April, managing Omos.
The only member of The Hurt Business not to be under an AEW contract is Cedric Alexander, with MVP recently discussing the absence.
Cedric Alexander was released from his WWE contract in February this year and has gone on to debut in TNA Wrestling.
